Ministry Team

Chelsea Cockrell// Communications Minister

Chelsea is the voice you will hear when you call the Oak Ridge office! She manages the office & oversees all of our communication including our weekly email, PowerPoint slides, & bulletin. If you come up to the church during office hours you will find Chelsea playing music at the front desk. (If she isn’t off chasing her 3 year old, Max.) She finds joy in creating things that are fun to look at, planning events for the women of Oak Ridge, & hanging out with our teens, & yes she is married to our Youth Minister.

Taylor Cockrell// student Minister

Taylor jumped on board as our Student Minister in the Summer of 2019… and then a Pandemic hit. But we are so glad he has stuck with us! Taylor has been in Ministry for 8 years and has a passion for getting teens plugged into the church and their community. He wants to see teens deepen their roots in faith so that they continue their journey after graduating.

Ron Johns// adult & family Minister

Preaching may be the most visible job Ron does but it is certainly not the only one. Ron has been here at Oak Ridge for 20 years, since the beginning, but he does oh so much more than just preach. You will have a hard time catching Ron in the office because he is out taking care of his Oak Ridge family, while also planning powerful sermon series, adult classes, & casting vision for Oak Ridge. What a guy!

Darla Johnson// Children & Family Minister

Darla has been our Children’s Minister for 8 years. She is gentle & kind & has a palpable love for all of the children who come through our doors. Darla is also a Licensed Professional Counselor so she is very thoughtful of our kiddos thoughts, feelings, & emotions. Our children learn how to love Jesus & each other during their time in this ministry.

Abigail Weaver// Worship minister

Since 2016, Abigail has been leading Oak Ridge in worship on Sunday mornings along with her “side gig” as the Head Choir Director at Weatherford High School. It is evident how much time & thought go into her song choices & that she pays close attention to wherever the Spirit calls her to lead during our service.
